January 26: OneAsia’s Qualifying School will return to Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club this year, from March 7 to 10, marking the start of OneAsia’s ninth season.
Sutera Harbour has been a regular home for the Qualifying School since OneAsia was formed in 2009, and a strong turnout of players is once again expected to head to the popular venue in Sabah, Malaysia.
OneAsia’s full schedule will be announced shortly with the winner of the Qualifying School eligible for all tournaments while players ranked second to 10th will be exempt for most events.
“There are many issues to solve and new challenges to face moving ahead”, said the new OneAsia Tour Commissioner Duan Tiesong.
“With the support from many and efforts made by our Board, we are trying our best to create a better platform in the Asia-Pacific region. Starting from the upcoming Qualifying tournament at Sutera Harbour, OneAsia will announce more and better competition opportunities.”
The first event on the schedule will be the Volvo China Open, which will take place at Topwin Golf and Country Club in Beijing from April 27 to 30. It is the second time for Topwin to host China’s national Open following on from April last year. The tournament is joint sanctioned with the European Tour.
“Hosting the 2017 OneAsia Qualifying School will provide a great opportunity for Sutera Harbour to showcase our truly world class facilities. We are extremely proud of our Championship course and it will therefore be exciting to see so many of Asia’s up and coming professionals compete here,” said Rick Blackie, General Manager, Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf and Country Club.
Sutera Harbour is a 384-acre Resort that provides a spectacular array of activities from its luxurious five-star hotels, Championship golf course, marina and recreational facilities.
Designed by leading golf course designer Graham Marsh, Sutera Harbour boasts 27 holes and has garnered various awards of distinction. It is also the home of the Sabah Masters.
